Richard Huxstep, Director
Richard has been a project manager in the construction industry for all his working life. He worked first in Winchester and then for two London-based construction firms, including Knight Frank (land and property valuation)and Sir Robert McAlpine (technical surveyor). Richard interrupted his career for three years to take a construction project management degree at UCL. As a graduate he went straight into project management for two high-end residential London building firms, where he guided clients from design stage through to completion, handover and aftercare. Besides running projects day-to-day, procuring materials and services, and maintaining budgets, deadlines and standards, he was also responsible for the key areas of health, safety and welfare of site workers and visitors, and training personnel.
We love what we do. It’s the before and after, about meeting the clients first-off and then the look on their faces when you have finished the project! We know the construction process is stressful for the client, which is what we want to minimise.
We aim to get the best quality project out of the budget – we adjust the scope of the project to bring in the very best quality finish.
For anyone buying a house in London, the most important thing is to see if there is any potential for increasing useable space. If the owner has already extended at the rear and side and built a basement, you can only rely on the appreciation of London house prices to provide you with an investment.
So you have to be looking beyond that and ask yourself what you can do to improve the place while you are living in it so that when you sell it you are maximising your returns.
